Exploring the Benefits of Lifelong Play

As children, play is how we learn how to be in the world. It is how we model social rules and norms, how we place ourselves in relationship to others and the world, how we construct a concept of ourselves, and how we adapt to life.
If as adults we relinquish play, we also relinquish a valuable degree of our neuroplasticity. We limit our potential to a range that is framed by the limitations of our our imaginations – most notably to who or what we imagine we are or can be.
The seminar invites participants to think about how they are living life, the frames that they hold onto that shape them, and the ways that play might free them up to live life in a fuller way.
